What is common among amylase, renin and trypsin ?

    A)  All are proteins

    B)  All act at less than 7 pH

    C)   All are produced in stomach

    D)  All are hormones

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Amylase, renin and trypsin are enzymes secreted from salivary gland, stomach and pancrease respectively. All enzymes are composed of proteins and they increase rate of a reaction by decreasing energy of activation. These acts at a specific pH (i.e., pH may be acedic, neutral or basic depends for a specific enzyme). Enzymes are secrete by glands with ducts like gastric glands. Hormones are secreted from ductless glands (endocrine glands) like thyroid, adrenal.
