                     Selaginella (club moss or spike moss) is a small evergreen pteridophyie. Leaves of Selaginella are microphyllous, sessile, ovate, lanceolate with chordate base, acute apex, unbranched midrib and having a small scaly flap like ligule on basal adaxial surface. Indusium is a kidney shaped protecting covering of son in pteridophytes e.g., Dryopteris. Petiole is the stalk of leaf. Stipule is a small leaf like structure which arise from the axil of leaf base.
