Directions : In the following question more than one of the answers given may be correct. Select the correct answer and mark it according to the code:

Genetic code consists of (1) r RNA (2) adenine and guanine (3) lysosome (4) cytosine and uracil

    A)  1, 2 and 3 are correct.

    B)  1 and 2 are correct.

    C)  2 and 4 are correct.

    D)  1 and 3 are correct.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The process by which the information coded in RNA (mRNA) is decoded into a polypeptide is one of the exciting discoveries of Biology. It is often referred to as deciphering the genetic code with only four biochemical letters (A, G, C, U). Each 'word' of codon consists of 3 leters, ie, the codon is triplet. Thus, each amino acid is specified by 3 nitrogenous bases in DNA/RNA.
