    When a copper voltammeter is connected with a battery emf 12 y 2g of copper is deposited in 30 min. If the same voltammeter is connected across 6 V battery, then the mass of the copper deposited in 45 min would be:

    Solution :

                     We know that\[m=zIt=z\frac{V}{R}t\] \[\therefore \]  \[\frac{{{m}_{1}}}{{{m}_{2}}}=\frac{{{V}_{1}}{{t}_{1}}}{{{V}_{2}}{{t}_{2}}}\] Or           \[{{m}_{2}}=\frac{{{V}_{2}}{{t}_{2}}}{{{V}_{1}}{{t}_{1}}}\times {{m}_{1}}\] \[\therefore \]  \[{{m}_{2}}=\frac{6\times 45}{12\times 30}\times 2\]                 \[=1.5\,g\]
