    A colony of honey bees consists of three kinds of individuals. [a] Workers: These are sterile females worker bee is the smallest member of colony. They are developed from the fertilized egg laid by queen. Total indoor and outdoor activities are performed by workers only. [b] Queen: It is the only fertile female in a bee hive having well developed ovaries, She is unable to produce wax and honey. The queen arises from a fertillized egg and the larva feeds on royal jelly. [c] Drones: These are fertile males. They posses very large eyes small pointed mandible and lack wax-producing glands. They develop parthenogenetically from unfertilized eggs. In budding a daughter organism is formed from a small projection the bud arising from the parents body e.g.. Hydra.
