                     Fasciola hepaticd is a common digenetic endoparasite in the larger bile ducts and passages of the liver of sheeps and hence, commonly called sheep liver fluke. Goats, cattle, pigs, dogs, deer, rabbit and ocassionaly man also harbour it. These are primary host. The snail host (secondary host) is generally a member of the genus Limnaea. It shows alternation of sexual adult with asexual larval generation, this phenomenon is termed metagenesis. Taenia is digenetic parasite but it does not show alternation of generation. Ascaris is monogenetic intestinal parasite of mammals. Wuchereria bancrofti is digenetic parasite it causes elephantiasis (filariasis) in human.
