    B)  Olfactory

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The nerves connected with brain are called cranial nerves. There are 10 pairs of cranial nerves in frog and twelve pairs in rabbit. Abducens nerves are motor nerves which arise from ventral part of medulla oblongata, pass through respective gasserian ganglia and innervate the posterior ractus muscles of eye. Vagus nerves are mixed nerves arising from lateral aspects of medulla oblongata. In rabbit each vagus nerve passes through vagus ganglion and divides into branches. Olfactory nerves are purely sensory nerves which transmit sensory impulse from the neuro sensory epithelium of nasal chambers to olfactory lobes of the brain. Optic nerves are also sensory nerves which bring sensory impulses from retina of eye to optic lobes through optic chiasma and optic thalami of diencephlon.
