    C)                  Kupffer cells?a digestive enzyme that hydrolyses nucleic acids

    D)                  Sebaceous glands?a  secretion  that evaporates for cooling

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Oxyntic or main gastric glands occur in the fundus and corpus. Each gland has at least four distinct types of cell, ie, chief or peptic cells, parietal cells, mucous neck cells and argentaffin cells. The secretion of gastric glands form gastric juice. Gastric juice is yellowish and highly acidic (pH 1.0 - 3.5) due to presence of \[HCl\] in it. Kupffer cells are found in liver. These are active phagocytes these phagocytize worn out and dead RBCs and breakdown their haemoglobin. Islet of Langerhans are found in pancreas. These contain four types of cells?(3-cells, a -cells 5-cells and PP cells, a-cells secrete glucagon hormone. Its function is to elevate glucose level in blood when glucose is deficient. Sebaceous glands are large pear-shaped and simple or branched aveolar glands located in outer region of dermis. These secrete an oily substance called sebum which acts as lubricant to keep the hair and skin soft and supple, protects these from moisture and desiccation and possess anti bactericidal properties.
