Cladistics can be best defined as

    A) the relationship between sub-species and species

    B) relationship between two most forward races

    C) relationship between endangered and surviving species

    D) method of classification that attempt to interfere phylogenetic relationship

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Phylogeny is the evolutionary history of a species or individual. It plays a great role in classification. It is the appropriate theoretical background for taxonomy and is quite essential in explaning all the associations involved in classification. Cladisdc classification is exclusively based on phylogenetic branching. Herring (1950) was the first to point out that the classification of a group also express the phylogeny. Cladisdc phylogeny includes an attempt to map the sequence of phylotic branching through a determination of characters that are shared primitive (symplesiomorphic) and that are shared derived (synapomorphic). In   cladistics classification one uses a dadogram as the graphical model for constructing biological system.
