(i) where W is work function, h the Plancks constant and v the frequency of light Also, equation of straight line is                                                                                                                        \[y=mx+c\]  ... (ii) where m is slope, c the constant. Comparing Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get that graph of E versus v is a straight line of positive slope, cutting the energy axis towards negative.
