    A)  mutation

    B)  hybridization

    C)  continuous variation with natural selection

    D)  mutation with natural selection

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Neo-Darwinism is the refinement of the original theory of natural selection given by Charles Darwin. According to it, new species is originated by accumulating different types of mutations and after several generation the isolated population becomes genetically and reproductively different from other so as to form a new species. Mutation is defined as the discontinuous variation which devlops and bring permanent changes in genotype. It is of three types : Genomatic, chromosomal and gene mutation. Hybridization is the crossing of organisms, which are genetically different in one or more traits. It helps in intermingling of genes belonging to different groups of same variety, species and sometimes different species.
