    Tubulin protein occurs in

    A)  digestive enzymes

    B)  rough endoplasmic reticulum

    C)   thylakoids

    D)  microtubules

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Tubulin protein occurs in microtubules, which are long, hollow cylinder. They influence cell shape, move the chromosome in cell division and provide the functional internal structure of cilia and flagella. The assembly of microtubules occurs by the incorporation of dimeric building blocks, which consists of two tubulin molecules (i) one a-tubulin and (ii) one \[\beta \]-tubulin. Microtubules were first observed by de Robertis and Franchi in 1953 in nerve fibre and the term was coined by Slatter Back Digestive enzymes or hydrolytic enzymes are present in latent form in lysosomes. Thylakoids are structural elements of chloroplast. In membrane of thylakoid are located photosynthetic pigment in a specific areas called quantasoms. Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum contains ribosomes and is more developed in cells actively engaged in protein synthesis.
