Cell organelle common in Monera and Protista

    A)  lysosome

    B)  chloroplast

    C)  ribosome

    D)  vacuole

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Cell organelle common in Monera and Protista is ribosome. Kingdom-Monera includes bacteria, Actinomyces, Mycoplasma, Spirochaetes, Rickettisiae, Chalamydiae and Cyanobacteria. Membrane bound organelles are absent in members of Monera and type of ribosomes present is 70S type. Lysosomes are single membrane bound organelles containing hydrolysing enzymes. They were discovered by Christian de Duve (1955). Chloroplasts are green plastids which take part in photosynthesis and temperor or permanent storage of starch. Vacuoles are non-cytoplasmic sacs, which are separated from cytoplasm by a membrane called tonoplast.
