A uniform metallic wire has a constant voltage across it. The heat produced is double, if

    A)  both length and radius of the wire are halved

    B)  both length and radius of the wire are doubled

    C)  only radius is doubled

    D)  only length is doubled

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

                     From Joules law, the heat (H) produced                                 \[(H)=\frac{{{V}^{2}}}{R}\]                           ?. (i) Also,      \[R=\frac{\rho l}{A}=\frac{\rho l}{\pi {{r}^{2}}}\]                                ... (ii) On doubling I and r both, R can be reduced to half.
