    A)  Carbohydrates

    B)  lipids

    C)  Proteins

    D)  Vitamins

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Proteins are long polymers of amino acids and constitute the largest fraction of cell. Some proteins have catalytic activity and function as enzymes, other serve as structural elements signal receptors or transporters that carry specific substance into or out of cells. Proteins are the most versatile of all biomolecules. The polysaccharide (carbohydrate), a polymer of simple sugar such as glucose has two major functions: (i) As energy yielding fuel stores and (ii) As extra cellular element. The lipids are greasy or oily hydrocarbon derivatives and serve as structual component of membrane, energy rich fuel stores, pigment and intracellular signals. Vitamins are organic compounds whose traces are vitally essential for proper use of macro nutrients (carbohydrates, lipids and proteins) in cell metabolism and for proper growth and function.
