    Solution :

                     The average emf during positive half cycle is given by                  \[{{E}_{av}}=\frac{2\,{{E}_{0}}}{\pi }\]                    ?. (i) Also,      \[{{E}_{rms}}=\frac{{{E}_{0}}}{\sqrt{2}}\]                              ?. (ii) From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get                 \[{{E}_{av}}=\frac{2}{\pi }\times {{E}_{rms}}\times \sqrt{2}\] Given,   \[{{E}_{rms}}=220\,V\], \[\therefore \]  \[{{E}_{rms}}=\frac{2\times 220\times \sqrt{2}}{3.14}=198\,\,V\]
