    D)                  Oxytocins

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) hormone is the proteinaceous hormone secreted by placenta for maintenance of corpus luteum. HCG in urine is an indication of pregnancy. It causes corpus luteum to secrete even larger quantities of its sex hormone (progesterone and estrogens) to prevent menstruation and cause the endometrium to continue to grow and store large amount of nutrient. Progesteron is an ovarian hormone secreted in response to the two female sex hormones from the anterior pituitary gland. It is a steroid hormone and stimulate secretion of "uterine milk" by the uterine endometrial gland and promote development of secretory apparatus of breast. Insulin is a peptide hormone secreted by \[\beta \]-cells of pancreas. It was isolated in 1922 by Banting and Best. It promotes glucose entry in many cells and thus controls carbohydrate metabolism. Oxytocin is a peptide hormone secreted by posterior pitiutary. It stimulates milk ejection from breast and uterine contraction.
