  • question_answer
                The proteins are synthesized at:

    A)             ribosomes

    B)             mitochondria

    C)             centrosomes

    D)             Golgi bodies

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

During protein synthesis, smaller subunits of ribosomes attach to m-RNA. The ribosomes provide space as well as enzyme for the synthesis of proteins. Therefore, these are known as protein factories or workbenches of protein.             Mitochondria are involved in energy production i.e., ATP. Centrosomes are involved in the formation of astral rays during cell division in animals (absent in plants). The main function of Golgi complex is secretion.
