AIIMS AIIMS Solved Paper-2015

  • question_answer
    Point out the correct decreasing order of \[{{\tan }^{-1}}\left[ \frac{{{p}^{2}}+{{Q}^{2}}}{2PQ} \right]\] values of following amines \[{{\sin }^{-1}}\left[ \frac{{{p}^{2}}+{{Q}^{2}}+PQ}{2PQ} \right]\] And \[\text{XX}'\]

    A) \[\text{A}=\text{1}0\text{m},\text{L}=\text{2m}\,\,\text{and}\,\,\text{d}=\text{3}0{}^\circ .\]

    B) \[{{\mu }_{s}}=5,{{\mu }_{x}}=0.4,g=10m/{{s}^{2}}\]

    C) \[\text{1 m}/{{\text{s}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    D) \[\text{2 m}/{{\text{s}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Order of \[p{{K}_{b}}\] values \[{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{5}}N>{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{5}}NHC{{H}_{3}}>{{({{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}})}_{2}}NH>{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}N{{H}_{2}}\]This is simply because \[+I-\]effect of \[{{\text{C}}_{\text{2}}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{5}}}\]group increases the basicity of amine while \[-I-\]effect of \[{{C}_{6}}{{H}_{5}}\] group decreases the basicity of amine.
