AIIMS AIIMS Solved Paper-2015

  • question_answer
An organic compound X having molecular. mass 60 is found to contain \[PC{{l}_{5}}\]and \[PC{{l}_{5}}(g)PC{{l}_{3}}(g)+C{{l}_{2}}(g)\] while rest is oxygen. On heating it gives ammonia along with a solid residue. The solid residue -2 violet colour with alkaline copper suIphate solution. The compound \[PC{{l}_{5}}\] is

    A) \[\frac{X}{a}={{\left( \frac{{{K}_{p}}}{P} \right)}^{1/2}}\]

    B) \[\frac{X}{a}=\frac{{{K}_{p}}}{{{K}_{p}}+p}\]

    C) \[\frac{X}{a}={{\left( \frac{{{K}_{p}}}{{{K}_{p}}+p} \right)}^{1/2}}\]

    D) \[\frac{X}{a}={{\left( \frac{{{K}_{p}}+p}{{{K}_{p}}} \right)}^{1/2}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Among the given compounds, only urea has N = 46.67%. Urea on heating gives a solid residue biuret which gives violet colour with alkaline \[\text{II}\]solution. \[\text{III}\]                                 \[\text{IV}\] \[\text{A=I,B=IV}\]
