Assertion (A) In an elastic collision between two bodies, the relative speed of the bodies after collision is equal to the relative speed before the collision. Reason (R) In an elastic collision, the linear momentum of the system is conserved. Each of these questions contains two statements. Assertion and Reason. Each of these questions also has four alternative choices, only one of-which is the correct answer. You have to select one of the codes (a), (b), (c) and (d) given below.

    A) If both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is correct explanation of Assertion.

    B) If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.

    C) If Assertion is true but Reason is false.

    D) If both Assertion and Reason are false.

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Assertion is false and reason is true because for e = 1, velocity of separation equals the velocity of approach but these are not relative manner.
