    B) if both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.

    C) If Assertion is true but Reason is false.

    D) If both Assertion and Reason are false.

    Solution :

    Photo modulation of flowering is a phytochrome regulated process. In short day plant, Pr form of phytochrome promotes the formation of flowering stimulus, whereas in long day plants, the flowering stimulus is promoted by Pfr form of the phytochrome. Therefore, the assertion is true, but the reason is false.
