A ruby laser produces radiations of wavelengths, 662.6nm in pulse whose duration are \[\text{1}{{0}^{-\text{9}}}\] s. If the laser produces 0.39 J of energy per pulse, how many photons are produced in each pulse?

    A) \[\text{1}.\text{3}\times \text{1}{{0}^{\text{9}}}\]

    B) \[\text{1}.\text{3}\times \text{1}{{0}^{\text{18}}}\]

    C) \[\text{1}.\text{3}\times \text{1}{{0}^{\text{27}}}\]

    D) \[\text{3}.\text{9}\times \text{1}{{0}^{\text{18}}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

                     \[E=n\frac{hc}{\lambda }\] \[n=\frac{E\lambda }{hc}\] \[=\frac{0.39\times {{10}^{-9}}\times 662.6}{6.626\times {{10}^{-34}}\times 3\times {{10}^{8}}}\] \[=1.3\times {{10}^{18}}\]
