  • question_answer
If pressure of \[C{{O}_{2}}\] (real gas) in a container is given by \[p=\frac{RT}{2V-b}\,-\frac{9}{4{{b}^{2}}},\] then mass of the gas in container is

    A)  11 g

    B)  22 g

    C)        33 g

    D)        44 g

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    van der Waals gas equation for a mole of real gas \[\frac{\Delta Q}{\Delta T}=200kcal/h\] \[=\frac{200\times 1000\times 4.2}{60\times 60}J/s\] Given equation, \[=233.33J/s\] On comparing the given equation with this standard equation, we get \[A=5c{{m}^{2}}=5\times {{10}^{-4}}{{m}^{2}}\] Hence, \[A=5c{{m}^{2}}=5\times {{10}^{-4}}{{m}^{2}}\] \[\therefore \] mass of gas \[K=\frac{\Delta Q/\Delta T}{A(\Delta T/\Delta x)}\]
