Direction for: In each of the following questions a statement of Assertion is given followed by a corresponding statement of Reason just below it. Of the statements mark the correct answer as

Assertion: In electric circuits, wires carrying currents in opposite directions are often twisted together. Reason: If the wires are not twisted together, the combination of the wires forms a current loop. The magnetic field generated by the loop might affect adjacent circuits or components.

    A)  If both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion.

    B)  If both Assertion and Reason are true but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion.

    C)  If Assertion is true but Reason is false.

    D)  If both Assertion and Reason are false.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

If the wires are twisted together, they can be formed as a single wire carrying currents in opposite directions. In this pattern, in wires no magnetic field is induced which does not affect adjacent circuits.
