Direction for: In each of the following questions a statement of Assertion is given followed by a corresponding statement of Reason just below it. Of the statements mark the correct answer as

Assertion: A spectral line will be observed for a \[{{\text{K}}_{\text{c}}}>1,\] transition. Reason: The energy is released in the form of wave of light when electron drops from \[{{B}_{12}}\] to \[C{{H}_{3}}COO{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}+{{H}_{2}}O\xrightarrow{{}}C{{H}_{3}}COOH+{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}OH\] orbital.

    A)  If both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion

    B)  If both Assertion and Reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion

    C)  If Assertion is true but Reason is false

    D)  If both Assertion and Reason are false

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Since the \[0.0693\times 10\,mol\,{{L}^{-1}}\,{{\min }^{-1}}\] and \[[A{{g}^{+}}],[B{{a}^{2+}}],\] orbitals are degenerate orbitals, ie, are of equal energy, so there is no possibility of electron transition.
