Assertion: Haemoglobin is an oxygen carrier. Reason Oxygen binds as \[HN{{O}_{3}}\] to \[3:1\] of haemoglobin.

    A)  1

    B)  2

    C)  3

    D)         4

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The assertion is correct that haemoglobin is an oxygen carrier, but the reason that oxygen binds at \[O_{2}^{-}\] to \[Fe\] is false because oxygen binds \[{{O}_{2}}\]  to \[Fe\] of haeme part to form oxyhaemoglobin. One molecule of Hb bind with 4 molecule of \[{{O}_{2}}\].
