  • question_answer
A compound possess 8% sulphur by mass. The least molecular mass is:

    A)  200

    B)         400

    C)  155

    D)         355

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    8% sulphur by mass means - 8 g sulphur is present in 100 g solid. \[\therefore \] 32 g sulphur (1 mole atom) will be present in \[=\frac{100}{8}\times 32=400g\] [\[\because \] compound must be having at least one atom of sulphur] \[\Rightarrow \] mm. mol. mass = 400 g
