The size of\[C-C\]  bond in benzene is:

    A)  \[1.54\overset{\text{o}}{\mathop{\text{A}}}\,\]

    B)         \[1.39\overset{\text{o}}{\mathop{\text{A}}}\,\]

    C)         \[1.22\overset{\text{o}}{\mathop{\text{A}}}\,\]

    D)         \[1.21\overset{\text{o}}{\mathop{\text{A}}}\,\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

It has been found by X-rays study that all \[C-C\] bond in benzene are equivalent with bond length 139 pm, which is intermediate between \[C-C\] (154pm) and\[C-C\] (134pm)
