Assertion: Stress is the internal force per unit area of a body. Reason: Rubber is more elastic than steel.

    A)  A

    B)  B

    C)        C

    D)  D

    E)  E

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The internal restoring force acting per unit area of cross-section of the deformed body is called stress. Also elasticity is the property of the material of a body by virtue of which it opposes any change in its size or shape. Greater the force required more elastic the body is. Hence, steel is more elastic than rubber.
