AIIMS AIIMS Solved Paper-2002

  • question_answer
A black body is at a temperature 300 K. It emits energy at a rate, which is proportional to :

    A)  \[{{(300)}^{4}}\]

    B)                                        \[{{(300)}^{3}}\]

    C)  \[{{(300)}^{2}}\]

    D)        300

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

From Stefans law the total radiant energy emitted per second per unit surface area of a black body is proportional to the fourth power of the absolute temperature (T) of the body i.e.,             \[[M{{L}^{2}}{{T}^{-2}}]\] where \[[M{{T}^{-2}}]\] is Stefans constant. Hence,           \[\sqrt{\frac{1}{{{\varepsilon }_{0}}{{\mu }_{0}}}}\]
