    A) monocot leaf

    B) isobilateral leaf

    C)       dorsiventral leaf

    D)        both (a) and (b)

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Leaves of dicots are also known as dorsiventral leaves because they have distinct dorsal (upper) surface, which receives maximum illumination of light and a ventral (lower) surface, which receives minimum illumination of light. While the leaves of monocots are also known as isobilateral leaves because both the surfaces of leaves receive equal illumination of light. Anatomically, mesophylls of dorsiventral leaves are differentiate into palisade, tissue and spongy parenchyma tissue. The mesophyll of monocot leaves is undifferentiated it is made up of only one type of cells (chlorenchymatous).
