Directions for Question: The questions consist of two statements each, printed as assertion and reason. While answering these questions you are required to choose any one of the following four responses:

Assertion: Only a change in magnetic flux will maintain an induced current in the coil. Reason: The presence of large magnetic flux through a coil maintains a current in the coil if the circuit is continuous. These questions consist of two statements each, printed as Assertion (A) and Reason (R). While answering these questions you are required to choose any one of the following four responses.

    A) If both A and R are true, and R is a correct explanation of the A.

    B) If both A and R are true, but R is not a correct explanation of the A.

    C) If A is true, but R is false.

    D) If both A and R are false.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Induced current (emf) in a coil is directly propertional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linked with the coil. If there is no change in the flux, there is no induced current also.
