    Xerophyte is a group of specific plants which have adapted for xeric habitats i.e., these plants occur in the soil which do not have sufficient amount of water. These plants have developed some specific structures such as thick cuticle, sunken stomata, waxy coating, hairy surface for minimise the process of transpiration. Which is a main source of water loss in the form of vapours in mesophytes.
