Which of the following is present between cell wall of the plant cells?

    A)  Lomasome

    B)  Microsome

    C)         Lysosome

    D)         Middle lamella

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Middle lamella is thin cementing layer holding together neighbouring plant cells. Middle lamella is rich in pectic substances.                 Lomasomes are sac like structures found between cell wall and plasmalemma in the haustoria of fungal hyphae. These were discovered by Bowen and Berlin. Microsomes are microbodies formed by the breakage of ER ends. Lysosomes were discovered by C.de Duve (1955). These are sac like hydrolytic enzymes containing, single unit membrane bound structures, commonly occur in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic (animal) cells.
