Directions for Question: The questions consist of two statements each, printed as assertion and reason. While answering these questions you are required to choose any one of the following four responses:

Assertion: Reaction of cone. \[{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\] on \[NaBr\] and \[Nal\] does not give \[HBr\] and \[HI\]. Reason:  \[HBr\]and  \[HI\]are oxidised by cone. \[{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\] to \[B{{r}_{2}}\] and \[{{I}_{2}}\].

    A)  If both A and R are true, and R is a correct explanation of the A.

    B)  If both A and R are true, but R is not a correct explanation of the A.

    C)  If A is true, but R is false.

    D)  If both A and R are false.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

\[{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\] when react with \[NaBr\] and \[NaI\], give out \[B{{r}_{2}}\] and \[{{I}_{2}}\] as concentrated \[{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\] is a strong oxidising agent.
