In a common-base mode of a transistor, the collector current is 5.488 mA for an emitter current of 5.60 mA. The value of the base current amplification factor (P) will be     AIEEE  Solved  Paper-2006

    A) 49

    B)                        50

    C)        51

    D)        48

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    The current amplification factor, \[\beta =\frac{{{l}_{c}}}{{{l}_{B}}}\] and \[{{l}_{E}}={{l}_{C}}+{{l}_{B}}\] \[\therefore \] \[\beta =\frac{{{l}_{C}}}{{{l}_{E}}-{{l}_{C}}}=\frac{5.4888}{5.60-5.488}=49\]
