The order and degree of the differential equation \[{{\left( 1+3\frac{dy}{dx} \right)}^{2/3}}\] are   AIEEE  Solved  Paper-2002

    A) \[\left( 1,\frac{2}{3} \right)\]

    B)                           (3, 1)

    C)           (3, 3)

    D)           (1, 2)

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The given differential equation is                    \[{{\left( 1+3\frac{dy}{dx} \right)}^{2/3}}=4\left( \frac{{{d}^{3}}y}{d{{x}^{3}}} \right)\] This equation can be rewritten as                    \[{{\left( 1+3\frac{dy}{dx} \right)}^{2}}=4{{\left( \frac{{{d}^{3}}y}{d{{x}^{3}}} \right)}^{3}}\] This shows that the order and degree of given equation are 3 and 3 respectively.
