  • question_answer
Dalton's law of partial pressure is applicable to which one of the following systems?

    A) \[\text{N}{{\text{H}}_{\text{3}}}\text{+ HC1}\]

    B) \[NO+{{O}_{2}}\]

    C) \[{{H}_{2}}+C{{l}_{2}}\]

    D) \[CO+{{H}_{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

When a mixture of two or more non-reacting gases are enclosed in a container then the total pressure exerted by the gaseous mixture is equal to the sum of partial pressure of the components in the mixture. e.g., \[\text{CO + }{{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}}\] are non-reacting gases. Hence, Dalton's law of partial pressure is applicable to this system.
