AFMC AFMC Solved Paper-2011

  • question_answer
Three persons walk from place A to place B. Their speeds are in the ratio 4:3:5. The ratio of the times taken by them to reach B will be

    A)  10 : 15 : 13

    B)  2 : 3 : 4

    C)  15 : 20 : 12

    D)  16 : 18 :15

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Suppose, distance between A to B\[~=x\] and three persons speed are \[4x,3x\]and \[5x\] respectively. Distance Then,    Time =\[\frac{Distence}{Speed}\]                 Hence, required ratio \[=\frac{x}{4x}:\frac{x}{3x} & :\frac{x}{5x}=\frac{1}{4}:\frac{1}{3}:\frac{1}{5}\]                                                 \[~=\text{ 15}:\text{2}0:\text{12}\]
