    Solution :

     Corm is a spherical, branched, vertically growing thick underground stem with more diameter than length. Corm usually bears reduced in temodes having few axillary buds in the axil of scale leaves, which grow into new corms. Adventitious roots are formed from the base of nodes. On approach of favourable conditions, the terminal bud forms the aerial branch which later on dries up , eg, Crocus sativus (saffron), Gladiolus, Colocasiaesculenta (arvi), Amorphophallus, etc.
