    Leishmaniasis or kala-azar is caused by Leishmaniadonovani. It spreads by sand fly. It is also known as dum-dum fever.                 Glossinapalpalis (Tse-tse fly) transmitts sleeping sickness and the causative organism is Trypanosomagambiense. Filariasis (elephantiasis) is caused by Wuchereriabancrofti the filarial worm but transmitted by Culex or Aedes. Yellow fever caused by an arbovirus is a haemorrhagic disease transmitted by the infected Aedesaegypti.
