    Solution :

    Mercuric chloride \[(HgC{{l}_{2}})\]is also known as  corrosive sublimate as it is highly poisonous and corrosive. It is used (9%) solution for sterlization of surgical instruments, washing hands, preservative for wood and hide. Its antidote is white of an egg. It is commercially prepared as follows : \[HgS{{O}_{4}}+2NaCl\to HgC{{l}_{2}}+N{{a}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\]
