Which law follows the law of conservation of energy?

    A) Lenz's law

    B) Kirchhoff's law

    C)                 Maxwell's law

    D) Ampere's law

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

According to Lenz's law the induced current produced in a conductor always flows in a direction, such that it opposes the change that producing it. Another way of looking at Lenz's law is based on the principle of conservation of energy. In the famous magnet-coil experiment if the direction of the induced current were such as not to oppose the motion of the magnet, then we would be obtaining electrical energy continuously without doing any work, which is impossible. Thus, Lenz's law is in accordance with the principle of conservation of energy. Kirchhoffs law follows the law of conservation of both charge and energy while Maxwell's and Ampere's laws follow the law of conservation of charge.
