AFMC AFMC Solved Paper-2003

  • question_answer
The practical unit of resistance is \[\Omega \].1\[\Omega \] is equal to:

    A) 1018 emu

    B) 109 emu

    C)  1015 emu

    D) none of these

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

From Ohm's law we have, \[V=IR\] \[\Rightarrow \]      \[R=\frac{V}{I}\] where, R is resistance, V is voltage and \[I\] is current. Also unit of voltage is \[{{10}^{8}}\] emu of potential and unit of current is \[\frac{1}{10}\] emu of current. \[\therefore \]        \[\text{R= }\frac{\text{1}{{\text{0}}^{\text{8}}}\text{emu of potential}}{\frac{\text{1}}{\text{10}}\text{emu of current}}\]             \[={{10}^{9}}\,\]emu of resistance
