    Prokaryotes (bacteria and blue-green algae) are the most abundant organisms on earth. A prokaryotic cell does not contain a membrane-bound nucleus. Each prokaryotic cells is surrounded by plasma membrane. There is no subcellular organelles, only in folding of the plama membrane called mesosomes and ribosomes are present.
