The focusing in the eye is done by -

    A)  change in the convexity of the lens

    B)  to and fro movement of the lens

    C)  to and fro movement of the retina

    D)  change in the refractive index of the eye fluid

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The cornea as well as crystalline lens are important for the eye to focus light. About 70% of bending of light takes place as it enters the cornea and aqueous fluid. Behind the aqueous fluid is the second lens system. It consists of a convex lens that is soft and pliable. The ciliary muscle is a circular ring of muscle that can change the shape of the crystalline lens by streching it at the edge. It is attached to the lens by zonules (ligament fibres that can be tight or loose). It means focusing in the eye is done by change in the convexity of the lens.
