    A) \[66\frac{2}{3}%\]

    B) 87.5%

    C) 90%

    D) 80%

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Let the number be x Actual calculation =         \[\left( \frac{4}{5}+\frac{2}{3} \right)x=\frac{12+10}{15}x\] calculation (by error) \[\left( \frac{5}{4}+\frac{3}{2} \right)x=\frac{11}{4}x\] % error = \[\frac{\frac{11}{4}x-\frac{22}{15}x}{\frac{22}{15}x}\times 100\] =         \[\frac{\frac{165-88}{60}}{\frac{22}{15}}\times 100=\frac{77}{60}\times \frac{15}{22}\times 100\] =         87.5%
