A hospital room is to accommodate 56 patients. It should be done in such a way that every patient gets \[2.2{{m}^{2}}\]of floor and \[8.8{{m}^{3}}\] of space. If the length of the room is 14 m, then the breadth and the height of the room are respectively:

    A) 8.8 m, 4 m

    B) 8.4 m, 4.2 m

    C) 8 m, 4 m

    D) 7.8 m, 4.2 m

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Let the breadth and height of room be b and h m, respectively. \[\Rightarrow I\times b=n\times \]Area occupied by one patient \[\Rightarrow 14\times b=56\times 2.2\] \[\therefore \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,b=\frac{56\times 2.2}{14}=\] Now, total volume of the room = 8.8 x 56m3 \[14 \times  8.8 \times  h = 8.8 \times  56\] \[\therefore \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,h=\frac{8.8\times 56}{14\times 8.8}=\]
