If a right circular cone of height 24 cm has a volume of  \[1232\,\,c{{m}^{3}},\] then the area of its curved surface \[\left( \text{take}\,\,\pi =\frac{22}{7} \right)\] is

    A)  \[1254\text{ }c{{m}^{2}}\]

    B)  \[704\text{ }c{{m}^{2}}\]

    C)  \[\text{550 }c{{m}^{2}}\]

    D)  \[~154\text{ }c{{m}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[\frac{\pi {{r}^{2}}h}{3}=1232\] \[\therefore \]      \[{{r}^{2}}=\left( \frac{3\times 1232}{\pi \times h} \right)\] \[\therefore \]      \[r=\sqrt{\frac{3\times 1232}{\pi \times h}}=7\]             \[l=\sqrt{{{h}^{2}}+{{r}^{2}}}=\sqrt{{{24}^{2}}+{{7}^{2}}}=25\] \[\therefore \] Area of curved surface \[=\pi rl=\frac{22}{7}\times 7\times 25\]                                     \[=550\,c{{m}^{2}}\]
